EASTWOODS SELL UP in 135 MILLION DEAL

Eastwood Bookmakers in Northern Ireland has been taken over in one of the biggest property deals of its kind, it was revealed today.
ENGLISH BOOKMAKERS Ladbrokes bought 54 Eastwood shops for around £135 million to make it the largest gambling outlet in the North of Ireland.
Eastwood`s was started way bavk in the 50s by BJ and Frances Eastwood and has shops in every town - and will be missed by many a punter.
The £135 million purchase price (which seems low to me) includes goodwill payments and a leaseback of the freehold properties.

First Curleys and now Eastwoods. I wonder if Barney will giv me back the thousands of pounds that I lost in his shop???

Can't see it myself!!

CELTIC SON in the 1.50 at Taunton looks nailed in to record his first win since Nov 05!!
He kicked of this season with a decent 3rd behind Fundamentalist over 2m 5f at Ascot when obviously needing the run and he went one better at Taunton when leading after the last only to be caught on the line over 2m 3f. He will strip fitter today and a stongly run 2m race may be what he needs. You won't get rich backing him but anything odds against will be a good price.

i'll put you all out of your misery, eastwoods first shop was in carrickfergus next door to a local pub many years ago

THE PG DAILY NAP

NORMAN THE GREAT
3.10 Taunton

Anonymous said...

when does cheltenham start?

Gerard,

NORMAN THE GREAT runs at Huntingdon. But I agree he will be hard to beat although LIGHT YIELD should not be underestimated!!

CELTIC SON and NORMAN THE GREAT would make a good double!!

MONEY TALKS

Spoof Master into 5/2 from 9/2 (1.30 Southwell)
Timetwogo into 20/1 from 40/1 (1.40 Hunt)
Kitte Ou Double 6/1 from 10/1 (2.10 Hunt)

Celtic Son 9/4
Norman The Great 2/1
sounds like nice double!

9/4 about Celtic Son looks a great price!!

Ladbrokes....sorry...I mean Eastwoods are only going 2/1.

STELLINO in the 2.50 at Taunton will not be beat. Again, it's trading at around Evs - 10/11 but a winner is a winner. It's a first time out for the in form Henderson-Fitzgerald partnership.
A mate in work just received a text message claiming that it will not be beat!

its the royal girls again this year gerard and we still think you are lovely xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Just watched that CELTIC SON race. He almost refused at the first flight and was given 3 or 4 stern reminders by TJ and was at one stag 30 lengths of the leader in last plast. He stayed on very well to take 4th which looked well out of the question with a mile to go. He's definitely one to keep an eye on but after watching that run he is a horse that needs AT LEAST 2 1/2 miles.

Money flying on Light Yield (3.10) now 3/1 from 11/2 - run a great third at Newbury last time out sorry PG I think this will beat your NAP

Anonymous said...

I think NORMAN THE GREAT will take all the beating but as I said earlier LIGHT YIELD has a big chance.

A reverse forecast may be the answer!!

STELLINO skated in by 15l. 5/6 but a win is a win!!!
